Alcoholism the 5 phases of recovery which I went through. These are the 5 phase s of my recovery following alcoholism. Basically some of landmarks and goals I set myself. All this came into head 1 afternoon when I chose this alcoholism was enough and that I needed to get sober. I think everybody who quits drinking at a certain point in there life has this cent drop second and the realised enough was enough. For me personally having been residing in bed for many weeks and getting almost exhausted every avenue for assistance. This time was for me.
I detoxed for seven days before then moved into a halfway home. I had to be sober for 3 -5 days before I had been aloud in this location. (I was meant to say from the video 7 day complete detox then I was transferred into rehab/halfway house - I said 3. It had been 7 full days sober).
Stage 1 - Take Responsibility for yourself and your activities going forward.Make a plan and stick with it and look back to start dwelling on the past as your own going through your alcohol retrieval. You need to proceed with your life, out of alcoholism and to recovery. Start being selfish. Essentially what that means its okay to be selfish in recovery from alcohol. This time is for you and nobody else so make the most of it. This time will alcoholics 5 stages of alcohol recovery only come once, so cherish it.
Phase 2 Followed the strategy that I had made to stop drinking alcohol. Never deviate from this plan. The single person who was in my own way was me. This will be the exact same for you. Break through this barrier and only do what you have proposed. Try this you will be amazed how effective it is.
Phase 3 - Halfway house and exercise/fitness After I got myself established in my home I started to focus on m health and fitness following alcoholism. This wasn't too difficult to do believe it or not. They were 2 people in the alcohol rehabilitation unit which were chefs. So food wise we had anything we wanted. Fundamentally when people used to go to the place. For example a relative. They always used to state something along the lines. This area is like a holiday camp with no alcohol. Or We would state in the UK it like Butlins minus the beer.
You have to start working o your psychological health after alcoholism to sobriety. It will get very confusing having an alcoholic and when you quit drinking fog settles and its only then can you determine what work needs to be done emotionally and physically
Stage 5 - Getting back into society and back to work after alcoholism. Getting back yourself into work and getting established in a home and flat on the outside (so to speak) is a small daunting task. To a people that had never lived alone or not actually had to look after their finances. When you stop drinking and you also get sober you need to actually work at getting yourself out there in society. You have to get out there and start speaking to people on a daily basis after your alcoholism. This functions founders for your mental wellbeing when you're sober and on the path to recovery.
